Dollar Movie Theatre Colorado Springs! The one thing I love about moving into Los Angeles may be the number of revival houses and single screen movie theaters you can still visit. Now I know many people who currently would prefer to curl up for the sofa and watch movies in the home, however these cult movies should be seen around the big screen if you're ever in Los Angeles.
"The Rocky Horror Picture Show"
This musical comedy horror cult classic which stars Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick plus the great Tim Curry like a "sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania" may be the longest-running midnight movie of them all. Thirty-eight years after "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" became available, it is playing in limited release and midnight screenings keep happening all over America. However, have not lived in anticipation of having seen this movie with the Nuart Theatre in Santa Monica where audience members can be their superheroes and talk returning to the screen in ways they couldn't if this were some other movie. Every Los Angeles screening I have seen of John Carpenter's fighting styles comedy has always led to a sold out audience. Thanks to home video, "Big Trouble in Little China" gained a massive cult following, and audiences love it today in such a way that you wished they did back when it first came out. It's a real kick to view this film by having an audience as they are in hysterics over Kurt Russell delivering his dialogue with the unapologetic John Wayne swagger, and that we have long since accepted the fact his character of Jack Burton is much more of a blowhard than the usual hero.
